Clay and Karen Scarborough, Owners
Residents of Decatur, Clay and Karen have always wanted to own their own business, and owning one within walking distance of their Decatur condo was even better.

Both are excited about Fleet Feet Decatur’s Mission:  To help our local community achieve fitness goals by providing an excellent customer experience and a supportive environment.

Clay exercises for the same reasons as many of our customers – i.e. the health and mental benefits.  But he has also enjoyed races and with increased training qualified and ran in the 2012 Boston Marathon.  Karen is a dedicated walker/run-walker and sometimes runner having participated in 5K’s, 10K’s and half marathons in the last few years.

Graduates of Duke University, Clay has worked for 20-plus years in finance and Karen still works as an operating room nurse at Emory Hospital. They love living in Decatur, following sports and can be found enjoying a cold beverage and meal at local establishments.

Kim Scarborough
After graduating with a communications degree from UCLA, where she swam on the varsity women’s swim team, Kim worked at one of the premier independent public relations firms in Atlanta and helped start Fleet Feet with her Dad.

Currently Kim is working full-time as an ICU nurse at Emory Hospital.  Kim is also "mother" of Lucy, our Yorkshire Terrier store mascot!

Alayna Fabricius
Alyana was a high school cross country runner before attending Georgia State where she is now captain of the women’s crew team.  Alayna likes both trail running and urban running!

Alayna enjoys helping customers through Fleet Feet’s fit process to help them find shoes, apparel and accessories that they will enhance their running experience.

Kathy Allen
Another happy Decatur condo resident (like Clay, Karen & Elaine), Kathy came to Fleet Feet Decatur through her daughter, Molly.  Molly worked at Fleet Feet in its first year as she was finishing her Master’s degree at Georgia Tech.

When Kathy retired from her Gwinnett County teaching career as a reading specialist, she thought about combining her enthusiasm (yes, she is!)  to help others and her love of running by working at Fleet Feet.  You will see Kathy racing at local 5K’s up to half marathons and running with Fleet Feet’s training programs.

You will also find Kathy working at the Oakhurst Community Garden and local organic farms and eating locally grown food here in Decatur.

Gale Scott
Gale is a Tar Heel who moved to Decatur to split the distance between beloved Chapel Hill, NC and Auburn, AL where her family lives.  Gale’s teaching experience and love of running has made her a favorite No Boundaries Coach.

Gale also loves trivia nights at local establishments, kayaking and teaching music at her day job.

Richard Roarabaugh
Richard has helped customers find the right shoes for many years having first worked at the Fleet Feet Sandy Springs.

Richard has been a Team in Training mentor for over 10 years having completed and helped others to complete many marathons the most recent being in Anchorage, Alaska.   Richard likes to share his experience helping others with their running needs and training questions.

On his “off” days Richard can often be found playing a couple of hours of tennis!  Richard and his wife are long time Avondale Estates residents and parents of Decatur high school graduate.

 Rebecca Goldberg
Rebecca has recently moved back to Georgia from Wisconsin where she attended and then worked for Beloit College.  Like many of our customers, when she started running it was a learning process mingled with both joy and occasional frustration.  Rebecca has discovered a great deal about herself on the road and greatly enjoys sharing her experiences and encouraging new runners.  She completed her first half marathon in Madison, Wisconsin in 2012.

Rebecca’s experience in costume construction/design and stage management enables her to expertly fit apparel and sports bras.  Rebecca is living in Avondale Estates.

 Scott Turner
Scott turned to running several years ago.  With many years sitting as a programmer all hours of the day & night he wanted to lose some weight and be active. Well, after losing 75 pounds, running several marathons including Boston he can relate to those who want to make some changes in their lives by running.  Scott lives in the Decatur area and his daughter works at the Atlanta Track Club.
