National Running Day at Fleet Feet

We had a good run followed by a Running Trivia contest at The Marlay!

June 4, 2014

Whether you're a new runner on your first week of the Couch to 5K program, or you've been logging miles since the 1960s, Wednesday is your day.

It's National Running Day.

Celebrated the first Wednesday of June since 2009, this is the day we celebrate us. This year, the cause has teamed up with Charity Miles, a phone app available for iPhones and Androids. Download the free app, pick a charity of your choice and hit start. Each mile ran yields a donation to your chosen charity.

Here are some ways to celebrate National Running Day.

  1. Run!
  2. Run without your watch, headphones, etc and really experience the run.
  3. Do a group run, then rehydrate with a pint at your favorite watering hole – Join the Fleet Feet Sole Mates for the Wednesday 6:30pm fun run and then cross the street to The Marlay for rehydration!
  4. Sign up for a race. Now is the day to do it. Then start your training for it!
  5. Treat yourself to something new for your runs. Whether it be as small as adding a new song to your running mix or as large as a new pair of sneakers, it will  bring a little pep to your step.

How are you celebrating National Running Day?
